You Are a Minister of Reconciliation!
You Are a Minister of Reconciliation! "All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;" - 2 Corinthians 5:18 (ESV) Today, as you stand for the restoration of your marriage, I want you to embrace the following profound truth: YOU are a minister of reconciliation. Yes, you read me right. You are not just someone seeking restoration but an ordained minister through whom God is going to bring reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:18 tells us that reconciliation is not merely an idea or some distant hope; it’s a ministry. It’s a calling that God has placed upon your life, my life, and every single believer’s life. The sincere phrase I hear more than any other is, “I don’t know if I am called to stand for restoration.” Well, this verse answers that question unequivocally! This ministry isn’t reserved just for pastors, preachers, or a select few individuals who will one day lead a marriage ministry. No, this particular ministry is for every believer who has been made a new creation. How do we know this? Because the call to this ministry is immediately after the famous verse many people quote when they become a new Christian: 2 Corinthians 5:17, which says, “If anyone is in Christ he is a new creation, the old is gone and the new has come.” And so, what is our assignment as this brand-new creation? The next verse tells us we have been “given the ministry of reconciliation.” Do you understand that you have been given the authority and the power to restore those things that seem irreparable? That’s precisely what God has entrusted to you. Through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, God reconciled us to Himself, and in doing so, He also placed upon you and me the ministry of reconciliation. It’s a divine assignment that God entrusts to every person who is now a new creation and a follower of Him. When we think of ministries, we often envision preaching from a pulpit or evangelizing in the streets. While these are important ministries, God’s ministry of reconciliation is different. It’s a ministry that takes place within the context of our everyday lives, and I believe particularly within the context of marriages and relationships. As you stand for your marriage to be restored, know that you are living out this ministry. It’s not about preaching sermons to your spouse but demonstrating God’s love, forgiveness, and grace in this season. You carry the living testimony to the transformative power of reconciliation through Christ. And most importantly, you carry an anointing from the Most High that breaks the yoke of anything hindering restoration. Sometimes, you might feel isolated in your pursuit of reconciliation, especially if those around you don’t share your faith or belief in restoration. But remember, your calling as a minister of reconciliation is not contingent upon the beliefs of others. It’s a divine appointment ordained by God. This means you can confidently walk in the ministry of reconciliation, even if you haven’t received a specific “Word of the Lord” about your marriage’s restoration. God has already spoken through His Word, and His will is clear. He desires harmony and restoration for your marriage, and He has chosen you to be the vessel through which He accomplishes this work. The question is, are you going to walk in this calling? In a world where divorce and broken relationships often seem like the norm, your commitment to a godly marriage will shine as a beacon of hope. You, my dear friend, are a living testament to the power of God’s love to heal and reestablish your most cherished relationships. Your marriage is becoming a testimony that defies the world’s expectations. That commitment is not just about you and your spouse; it’s a platform for God’s transformative work in the lives of those around you. So today, I challenge you to stop asking the question, “Am I called to stand for restoration?” and embrace your role as a minister of reconciliation with confidence and humility. Be assured that God has entrusted you with this profound calling, whether you feel it’s true or not. Choose to stand supernaturally in your call for restoration, knowing that you are indeed ordained by God to carry this ministry of reconciliation to your family
