The Three Elements of Breakthrough!
The Three Elements of Breakthrough! “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” - Romans 12:12 (NIV) During my own personal stand for marriage restoration, there was one major verse the Lord specifically used to give me insight, direction, and supernatural encouragement. It was a verse I am confident I had read hundreds of times before, but it was one of those occasions when the verse jumped off the page with supernatural revelation attached to it. It was Romans 12:12, “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” In this verse, we see three elements that I believe will give you the breakthrough you are asking for! First, the verse says to be “joyful in hope.” Today, I want to encourage you that God desires you to experience His joy as you stand in hope for your marriage. Sometimes, we might think our hope has to be wearisome and emotionally draining, but that is not the case. Time and time again, God shows us how joy is the element that brings strength (Nehemiah 8:10). I challenge you to ask God to give you supernatural, joyful hope for your marriage restoration! For the next several days, we will look at the power of hope in your stand. But today, ask God for more joyful hope to give you strength. The second element of breakthrough we see in Romans 12:12 is the most difficult yet most important when standing for your marriage. “Patient in affliction!” Some translations say “patient in tribulation.” I know this season is difficult, and affliction is probably a good word to describe what is happening to you, but if you can embrace patience during this affliction, then the devil will have lost almost all his power over you. I know it’s not natural to stay and be patient when difficulties surround you, but this is the key to victory! Remember, patience is a fruit of the Holy Spirit, which means the enemy doesn’t have any. You can and will outlast the devil and his attacks on you and your family. You will win if you embrace the reality of needing to endure patiently! Finally, the last part of this verse that shows us how to walk in breakthrough is to be “faithful in prayer.” Good old-fashioned, consistent, and persistent prayer! If you keep banging on the doors of Heaven, those doors will be opened! So, if you have been praying for your spouse for years, keep praying! If you just started really interceding for your spouse, awesome, you have started a massive element for a breakthrough for your family. When you don’t see any movement in the natural, keep praying! When things seem to be going in the wrong direction, keep on praying! Remember that being faithful in prayer is a key element of breakthrough! So today, I ask you to embrace all three elements of breakthrough we find in Romans 12:12. If you live out these three elements of the Kingdom during your stand, no demon in hell can stand in the way of your breakthrough! Do you receive this truth over your stand today? Will you be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer? If you do, get ready to see a supernatural move over your life and your marriage!
